Nota d'usoBisogna fare attenzione a non confondere l'uso di always e di ever quando si vuole tradurre l'avverbio “sempre”. Ever corrisponde a “sempre” solo quando è utilizzato in combinazione con un aggettivo: an ever-present danger, un pericolo sempre presente. In tutti gli altri casi è necessario utilizzare always: It's always cold here in winter, fa sempre freddo qui in inverno (non It's ever cold here in winter). Esiste inoltre la locuzione for ever che significa “per sempre”: I'll work here for ever, lavorerò qui per sempre.
